'13 non-etune radio?

That is Entune BTW, if you have APPS button you have Entune.

 

Yeah, but I like I said previously, I cant use entune since the truck didn't officially come with entune. They just put the wrong HU in my truck. Unless somebody with entune wants to let me use their VIN?

You can't use the same vin to register two entune head units.

 

I'm sure there are people out there that bought a Toyota with entune cause that's what dealer had in stock and never registered it and have no plans to register. Like some old lady? That's the people I gotta find

 

By default I think they gotta at least set them up with the entune, so at least get them a username and password that way they can use it in the future 3 years if they ever decide they want to.

There has gotta be a way to get SAT on my NON entune 2013. I did it to my 2011, added a SAT head unit and antenna, was all plug and play, was easy. Who will be the first to crack the code on a 2013 and add SAT?

 

For me I would like the vehicle info and Nav on my 2013 NON Entune touch screen. I'm not into the SAT radio that much so that doesn't appeal to me. I stream my music from my Iphone or USB port.

In my owners manual it goes thru the different touchscreen radios and there is one model (non entune) that shows vehicle info like MPG current and avg plus miles till empty, time and distance.

I think the only way to get Nav is with the Entune deal.

 

Mine does not have vehicle info integrated into it like Prius does, why it doesn't I have no idea, I payed $36k for a loaded up truck which doesn't even have some sort of information center on it and every other vehicle on the road including some of the manufacturers vehicles themselves have a display themselves. Fully loaded Tacoma=FAIL!

 

Some of the other owners with entune say they dont get vehicle info either.
I could care less about the entune, I want the info too! MPG, trip computer and tire PSI.

 

My dealer says they can add the satellite to the factory touch screen radio (non-Entune model) and an icon will show on the touch screen for SAT. In fact I was with the salesman when he called their contact. It will entail the use of a non-factory antenna which they say is small and can be mounted behind rearview etc.

 

Well I've seen that radio model in my owners manual but not in a Tacoma. Maybe it will be available soon.

 

Lol eventually when they decide to incorporate that "technology" into our cars. It's not like they haven't had it out since the early 2000's when the first priuses and sequoias came out.

I noticed that the 2013's now have a stereo option that includes a 6-disc CD player again, and I don't think you have to have Entune to get it, but I think it is a JBL. I have a 2012 with the standard single disc/SAT/bluetooth streaming stereo in it. Can I swap it out for a 2013 HU with the 6-disc?

Edit: It's called the TRD Off-Road Extra Value package w/JBL. Listed on the Toyota website.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. It's essentially the same head unit.
