'13 non-etune radio?

does anyone know what the base 6.1" has features wise? can you use pandora threw ur phone and bluetooth? i just orded a 13 4x4 reg cab it has this system but i was wondering its features.

 

you can sync bluetooth from your smartphone and stuff on it, i sync my iphone 5 using bluetooth to play pandora through the phone (so it plays through the stereo system) and the quaility of sound isnt bad either with it. (and you can call people and stuff with the bluetooth as well of course) at first i was upset i didnt get entune, but the stock unit has everything you'll ever need. btw, check out 8tracks.com (it's like pandora but almost better, and it has an app as well)

Wanted entune in my 2013 Sport Access cab, dealer said entune was not available in the access cab. Not sure why.

Yeah, my dealer said the same thing. I thought that later on I could maybe purchase the Entune radio for my 2013. But I was wrong. My dealer said that I could not add an Entune radio to a non-entune 2013 Tacoma. He said that the wiring was different. I don't see how this is possible. To me all you should have to do is buy the entune radio, run the SAT wires and receiver cables and presto! It should basically be plug and play, reprogram but I guess not.

 

ok so had any one figured out if its possible to add the vehicle info to a non entune unit? i dont care about navi or the entune but i do like the info stuff

 

nope no sat button on mine either. i searched and serched. and nothing. i also noticed that the truck did not have an antenna so there you go. lol

 

I haven't done any digging, but does anyone know if there's any sort of video input, or the ability to play videos, etc?

I have a DVD head unit in my car and never use it (totally unsafe while driving), but I was curious if there were any features and/or hidden menus in the HU that anyone has found.

 

Is there anyway to change out the HU background image? I know you can have USB input, just curious if you can pull an image and set it as a background. Stock black/blue is ok but I love customization.

i was in a 2013 dc sport with entune jbl system the other day. I must say it sounds really good for a stock radio. I say get the entune jbl system!

Has anyone seen album art yet? Mine just shows the BT logo so I tried it via USB but still no album art. It's not a huge deal but I would swear I saw album art on my test drive, makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong.

I just got my taco and I traded up from an '03 Cavalier; the BT phone and the the touch screen seem like magic to me It seems like someone more tech savvy than I could hack the head unit and get it to play a little more nicely with smartphones.

 

I get album art off the USB drive. I don't have any music on my phone tho.

 

off the usb drive? as in a thumb drive or connected to a mp3 player? I'm cheap, I have my music on a thumb drive, but no album art. Just curious.
