Dunno if you saw my post in the other thread about what I have done with my TX Pro wheels. These pictures can give you an idea of what they look like with different combinations...all the "painted" parts were Plasti-Derped.

Right on, thanks for sharing. I will keep running them "naked" for the time being - I keep going back and forth. Haha.

Nice looking rig. Did you paint your grill surround? or buy a color matched one?

Nice looking truck. You inspired me to get the Baja suspension kit for my DCLB TRD Sport 4wd. I too tow a Boston Whaler and haul a lot of camping gear. I was planning on doing an AAL and leaf spring re-arc through a local spring shop lifting the rear about 1.5- 2". Have you had any issues with the rear shocks topping out?

No issues as of yet. The setup is working beautifully so far.

    What kind of Whaler?

Just a little 13'. Use it for bay cruising and near shore surfing. Thanks for the info, getting the suspension kit installed Tuesday.

Love your truck man. Thinkin about getting a set of 265/75/16 Duratracs for my taco. I know you've said no rubbing issues in previous posts but just thought I'd ask if that has been consistently true? Also how do you like those tires in the snow?

Thanks. Yes, still true. The only time it rubs on something is after traveling on the freeway for a few hours, the little plastic flaps in front of the front wheel wells bend backwards and then if you reverse before the bend back straight, it will rub. But that's really a non issue and I don't know if the pre next gens have them...not sure what year you have.

Spent very little time in the snow but so far so good.

Old thread I know, but I have to ask you a question. Still waiting for the 2014 Baja's to come out, but in your build it appears as though you bought a new suspension early on. My question is why? You put in a few thousand for the Baja suspension, but you upgraded it almost immediately. What is your reason for not going with a straight TRD OR or SR5 and upgrading that suspension instead of one that costs.

Not challenging here, just learning as I'm trying to determine for myself why I feel I have to have the Baja. Love your Taco and I hope to be in the club very soon.

    Thanks,
    Blind

Mostly because the truck came with exhaust and wheels that I wanted to upgrade anyway. The price difference after taking that into consideration and the fact that I would have rather had the costs for those upgrades built into the loan if possible is what made me get the TX Pro.

Totally makes sense. That's exactly what I was going for as well. I just wanted to verify or possibly learn a different thought process.

    Thanks much,

That's a really cool way of doing the bags in the rear so you don't limit drop at all. Those are going in my phase 2 suspension plans.
