13MPG Fuel Economy

Well that's good, cause I would hate to know there are taco drives out there who don't know what they are doing.

 

I have 9 400 kms on my Off Road 4x4 access cab with automatic and I was averaging today (mostly highway) 11.2 L/100 km in 4 Hi. Mind you I wasn't going close to the post limits due to
the conditions.
In American that's 5 840 miles and 21 mpg.

 

Really, I'm talking 2-3 mile round trips and what the trip meter says when I return. I happy with my truck, I've been averaging almost 19 mpg, more when the weather is warmer, more then my '14 ever got. Also when I do fill up I'll look at the projected tank mpg's divide it by the miles I drove on that tank and it is always so close to the gallons I put in that I haven't even bothered to manually check any more.

 

With such a short trip, that idle time can have a large effect. Also hills and what not. How long does that trip take? How much of that time is just idling?

Lots of variables when it comes to mpgs, and sometimes folks don't think about them.
