Well I guess I'm blessed :) but I keep the tires at the right air pressure, tuned and drive like I'm on eggs but of course when I get on it I get crap mph...

Last time I checked I was averaging about 19.5mpg. Stock tire size. Most likely sticking with that size for fuel mileage reasons. No surprise that adding bigger heavier tires will decrease the fuel mileage.

I average about 14 something as well. When the truck was newer and pre- winch/ARB, sliders and shell I was getting about 18-19mpg on real gas, then ethanol showed up everywhere. I generally drive like an old man as well.

I have E rated LT265/75/16's on my 07 4X4 DC with a Leer cap on it It gets 20 mpg hwy if I keep it under 70. I get 16-17 during every day driving. I got 22-23 mpg for a couple of tanks in Arizona and Utah 3 years ago. Was on 2 lane mountain roads where 60 was about as fast as I could drive and there were lots of long downhill runs where I could coast for miles. The worst I've ever gotten hwy was driving from Denver to Kansas City driving straight into a headwind. Only got 16 mpg for a couple of tanks.

These MPG comparisons are pointless unless everybody is stating the exact same metrics about their trucks (tire size, engine, trans, drivetrain type, passenger weight, accessory weight, etc).

When I have the RTT on the back I average 13.7 on most of my trips through New England. My drive to Michigan in the summer is usually 15mpg avg, doing 70-75 in cruise control. I have 285/75r16 Cooper ST Maxx tires and they are heavy af.

THIS. When im driving to and from work, I get about 12-14. Lead foot, traffic, etc. But it never fails, when we go on a trip and I drive, I always keep the rpms right under 2k and ill get 20 mpg easy. Both are with about 100 lbs of gear/tools etc in at all times. Tires are AT3 E's at about 50 lbs per

265 70 17s KO2s C load , 1.5 inch lift, canopy, I get 17 avg but I take easy on the gas pedal. I hang out in the slow lane.

Made a similar drive recently.. North out of Oklahoma with a 25mph headwind to salina, then to Denver. 20-30 mph wind out of the north the whole time.. running 80 with headwind is terrible

2007 Tacoma, 6 speed, 285/70/17. Averaged 14.7mpg for years, just got it aligned by firestone after many shops failed over the years, swapped out needle bearing for ECGS, and swapped back in Toyota CVs after years of Chinese crap. Average 65 mph. Mileage shot up to 18mpg.

Are you guys taking into account the odometer error when you change tire size?
A bigger tire will take less revolutions to cover the same distance as a smaller tire, which results in a lower incorrect odometer reading.

Corrected mileage with Garmin GPS I got 17 mpg. I filled up at 291 miles and took 17 gallons of 93. I still had an 1/8 tank left on the gauge. I have steel sliders, steel IFS and transmission skids, ARB Deluxe Winch Bull Bar with winch, Softopper and 255/85r16 Cooper ST-MAXX tires. I'm also 6 speed and i stay at the posted speed limit. It was about 90% highway.

I installed the Hypertech speedometer piggyback computer on my truck, and my speedo compared to estimated speed on GPS is roughly the same. Some people don't want to spend ~$200 on a little gadget but I like the peace of mind.
