14 Tacoma SuperWhite 040 Peeling

My 2014 Toyota Tacoma in 040 Super White Paint is experiencing the exact same symptoms of paint peeling as the vehicles in the Customer Support Program ZKG. I was told that my vehicle was not included in this program. I encourage everyone who has similar factory paint issues on your Tacoma to call Customer support at 1-800-270-9371. Even if you have already repaired your truck, they are reimbursing people included in this CSP. The more people that call the more likely we are to get this injustice corrected.

Thanks, just trying to get the Tacoma world army to call into customer service. Force Toyota to recognize the issue.

Unfortunately you may be right. The pics you see are about 2 years worth of flaking off.

There is well supposedly some kinda program toyota for blizzard white and super white if I recall .
I had a 2015 super white a couple spots it started to chip . But traded it in for a Silverado?uha bad mistake got rid of that POS in first 6,000 miles hated it . Well anyway. Wife had a 2015 rav4 super white no issue but she actually got a letter From Toyota recognizing that they realize that there was some issues with their paint and she might have some issues herself. It looks like just like one of the recall notices. So Toyota has something going on but I’m not sure exactly what it is if I can find that letter I will post a picture of it .I know it’s out there many people know about it.
Wyldman . You look like a perfect candidate for free paint job on Toyota’s bill. So sorry if I can find I’ll post it .
Not sure what steps need to be done or if there actually doing anything but worth a try !!!

 

Yes the program was the customer support program zkg. It includes alot of blizzard and super white vehicles just not Tacomas. Toyota said they hadn't gotten enough complaints to add it to that list. So I'm trying to get ppl to call and get Tacos added to the list.

 

Ahhhhhh . Thats kinda B/S from them .
They know . I’ve heard tundras RAV4 and tacoma.
Frustrating fingers crossed for you man ...

Nope, no accidents. Bought it new with 230 miles on it. Factory paint.

I’ve had the exact same problem with OP, paint was peeling in the same places of the truck. I took it to toyota and they had to take pictures and sent it to corporate. Eventually they were able to approve it and they repainted the areas.


Edit: mine is a 2012 super white tacoma

 

@Kinney I would love to know more. Did you take it back to the dealership, have to pay any out of pocket? Have any more areas started peeling since you got it fixed? Mine started with the passenger side door about 2 years ago and now 8 panels are peeling. If you have any documentation of this it may help me get my truck fixed.

yes, i took it to the dealership, they paid for the repainting and i didn’t have to pay anything out of pocket, and nothing else have been peeling since the repainting but they also told me they were going to check other areas of the truck for the peeling issue. let me check my files for the paperwork, i got it painted right before the covid was getting worse so they said they would have to email me the paperwork to sign but i don’t remember getting anything. they must have forgotten to send or might be hiding in my junk mail.

@Kinney That would be awesome! So glad you got your truck fixed. I am going to the dealership today. I start a new job in a month and I can't have my truck looking this bad.

 

I hope you are able to get it fixed, it bothered the heck outta me when it was peeling. It took a little less than a month for them to send the pictures to toyota and get the approval for repainting. Let me know what they say. They also said they didn’t see the tacoma’s under the repainting “recall” but since they’ve have many tacoma’s here that had the same problem they went ahead and still sent it to toyota

 

@Kinney Okay. Anything you can send me will be helpful or if you give me the name of the dealership you went to, something to get Toyota to fix this. I will appreciate it!

 

Man, that's lucky you got yours to be repainted. Took mine to the dealer and they sent the photos to corporate and they denied to repaint my 2012 super white tacoma. That was a couple years ago though.
