So I'm on a long trip and it's raining the whole way. All of a sudden I noticed that the wipers started parking about 2" high when in intermittent. Then all of a sudden I had no intermittent and they went to constant at regular speed. Then it fixed itself and started parking normally.

When this happened it happened over and over for about 100 miles. Turning them off and back on made no difference. Once I shut the truck off completely, it hasn't happened again yet, but I'm concerned. I guess I was lucky that they didn't crap out all together.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Did they ever start operating on their own when you had them in the "off" position? I put in new headlight bulbs once and in the process, I moved the wiper fluid reservoir out of the way. Well, I forgot to reconnect it and my wipers went off all by themselves anytime I washed the truck (may be similar to a heavy rain). It turns out that when the plug gets wet, it acts as if you were pulling the wiper stalk toward you to operate the wiper fluid, hence the wipers going rogue.

I experience the wipers coming to a stop above their normal position from time to time. Usually a tap for mist to cycle them once fixes the issue.

I had the exact same thing happen shortly after I bought the truck new. It only did it that one time. Now have 65k miles.

I had almost the same thing. Needed the intermittent for a short trip and noticed they just went right to low reg setting, with no pause. Tried turning the speed wheel and nothing changed it. Put them on the low reg setting, stayed the same. Once I turned the truck off after the drive, it was back to normal at the next start up. Did that to me back in the spring, and never again. Just one of those WTF moments.

2013 DCSB 26K miles, probably closer to 24k at the time.

Not sure what the concern is, other than maybe dying altogether. My guess though is that while you might lose the intermittent bit, the other 2 speeds will fine. I'm pretty sure the intermittent is a form of rheostat, the rest is basic switch.

Since the intermittent function is all in the switch in the cab, seems the worst that might happen is the need to replace the switch if it did die.
