I'm a gen1 1999 V6 5 speed manual hubs owner and am looking at buying a new or slightly used gen 3. No, not selling the gen 1. Anyway, I found a 16 access cab OR 4X4 with 14K on the clock at a local chevy dealer. Clean as a pin and drives out good with all the goodies. My question is on the car fax is shows to have already had two owners! Strange for a 14K truck? It also was listed for sale in another state according to the fax and now here with the same miles.
I also noticed a "go-pro" shoe stuck to the windshield near the mirror.???.
Again, the truck looks new, just scared of the history.

Some of these trucks are problematic. I'd avoid that one. Go pro is standard the TRD trims

some of this, a little of that
some early buyers of the 3rd gens had serious buyers remorse and didn't like them and moved to other brands, the go pro mount is a "feature" on them.

**dammit, smitty beat me to it my a minute :pout:

That would honestly scare me a little, but not enough to not buy it. Do your research on common issues with the third gens, and look for them in this truck. If it seems to be in good working order, it very well could just be odd circumstances that led to it having two owners already.

Seems it's been passed around like a $10 Tijuana hooker. I'd ask for the slut discount if you do entertain the purchase.

There are a certain number of ppl that buy first year models as a speculative "investment", meaning they're hoping demand will be high vs supply. They do this for any first year make/model maker and sometimes they win sometimes they loose.
As a comparison, there are ppl who buy season tickets of their favorite teams in hopes of selling them higher if the team has a great season and if they go to the playoffs they may have first dibs or preference on availability and can make money there too if "lucky". But now that the big boys want in on that action they're passing ordinances (with political ties and help) against ppl selling outside the gates and now more ppl are turning to this (cars) kind of speculation.

My point is, there is probably a lot of selling or flipping going on, but as a consumer, you need to do due diligence on your purchase, like you're doing now.
That particular truck you mention, doesn't smell right, I would stay away and try getting something cleaner, like a one owner.

    Good luck!
    Cheers!

Rear end looked dry. Don't know of anything else to look at. I really like the access cab for my use over the DC. Priced at $31700. Thinking about offering them 29 to 30 tops. Access cabs are hard to find in this area.

Access Cabs are hard to find period. IMO $31,700 for an Off Road isn't terribly out of line. To each his own though.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'd go $24.6 for that dirty skank

Not to be a jerk, really. What does your gut feeling tell you about that? I wouldn't even consider it.

Isn't the truck still under warranty?? I don't think I would be too concerned about it. Both owners probably bought it and came here on tacomaworld and got scared off.

I like the truck. Shows the first owner only had it for less than 4000 miles if I recall correctly. I was more worried about the go-pro mount than anything.

See if the dealer will let you test drive it over a weekend.

My brand new 2017 access cab OR was 34,600, I would try to get them down to 28k

I'll put my $0.02 in.... I'm getting my '17 Sport with tow package (ACLB V6 MT) for $30,500+ tax and fees. I wouldn't pay more than $25k for it even if it looked mechanically sound.
