As far as I know, the 2016's came with the go pro mount. Don't expect it to be like your 1st gen though.

My 2nd gen is too damned big, the 3rd gen is the same.

I noticed 2 Turds sitting at the local Subaru used car section. They have been there for 3 months. Seems like a lot are dumping Taco's for Subaru. I would avoid a used Turd---I would get a new one if you really want one. Otherwise, wait until they work out the issues with the Engine/Trans which really does suck. The Go-Pro mount is stupid and should be optional.

OP, just drive it for while and see. There are plenty of people here that love their 3rd gens, some not so much. My only gripe so far is the engine/trans but the way I see it, it keeps me out of the fast lane and keeps me from getting speeding tickets.

That's probably the worst, illogical, unsound advice I've heard. I'm a Toyota dealer so tell your salesperson I'll take all the Tacomas he has at that price because that's waaaaay below net. Your welcome to PM me because the check is waiting.

I'm pretty sure the truck I'm getting was an order that someone backed out on. I do realize it's below invoice, even figuring in the hold back and other built in profit. Just trying to point out that deals can be had if you are willing and in the position to negotiate.

I'm not going to call you the L word because anything is possible and I certainly don't want to be put in a time out again. But that used 2016 Access Cab off road will/would go through Mannheim Auto Auction for no less than $29k and maybe even $30k. How do I know this? 34 years in the car business. Used Tacoma's all models, years and trims bring stupid, stupid money. You can't buy them and when you do your very fortunate to have one on your lot.

Fair enough. I don't expect you to believe anything anyone says on an internet fourm. When the deal is done and if the dealer doesn't flake out on me I will gladly post the P&S in the appropriate thread. I'm not arguing that the resale values of Toyota's aren't good. When I can get $18,500 for my '14 with 50k miles on it, I'm not complaining (that's more than I owe on it as I got that one for a steal too). Manual transmissions are not in high demand even though there are die hards like me that won't drive anything else. You should know as well as anyone else as a dealer... When negotiating to buy, start low. As the buyer you don't know the seller's bottom line.

possibilities for 2 owners that AREN'T a problem in my mind:

    -buyers remorse
-needed more room/changed mind to double cab
-missed payments and vehicle was repossessed
    -didn't like paint color
-owner passed away, so car was traded in

there's many more. My bet would be it was repo'd from at least one of them, I don't know if carfax checks that. A coworker of mine bought a used 2014 shortbed, in red. Went back the next week and traded it in because he realized he needed a longbed, and didn't like the red. That's just one example of why a perfectly good truck can have multiple owners in such a short time.

As someone said, see if they will let you take the truck for a day or two. See how it feels, my bet is that it's fine. The price is a bit steep though.

Here's a screen shot of the latest market report from Mannheim Auction. The average price paid is $28,900 plus transportation with 14,000 miles. By the time freight, prep, service and certification get added to the bottom line your into it for close to $30k. Toyota dealers, not domestic are going to ask $32,900 because of the certification. As I've said before, $31,700 is not a bad price from a domestic store. Anything less is a bonus. Under $30,000? Dream on.

I failed to notice it was 4x4, so the price is a bit less unreasonable, I would think new can be had for not much more. It looks like 3rd gen expects to hold value like 2nd does.

Looks like guys are getting similar new trucks for $500 to $4,000 more than what you're thinking.

Of course new doesn't prove it's perfect but two owners in 14k miles at that price. I'd run NOT walk away.

Why risk it for a relatively small amount of money...depending on how long you plan to own it.

For the dealer to ask 31k....some one had to sell it for around 27k. If its clapped out and been sitting on the lot? They will have no problem kicking it out the back door.
