I kinda wanted to say it's a Toyota dealership not a Rolls-Royce dealer! Lots of kids our age have Toyotas as first cars so they really aren't that prestigious!

    Also :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Oh man, that sucks! Hopefully they fix you up without much hassle. Unfortunately this is where you start resenting the Ford and look to get back into a Tacoma.

I hope so too! I had to have the transmission rebuilt on my Tacoma because of torque converter shutter. Didn't get anymore money for my old truck even though it was rebuilt! So yeah it double sucks I'm having to deal with it again.

Also I didn't want to get a different truck! I was perfectly content driving my old one and planned to keep it till the frame finally gave way. It still really hurts thinking about not having my Taco as I wasn't ready to get a different truck. I loved that truck! I just could not find a good Tacoma that I liked for a decent price. I could find plenty of Fords in good condition that were well equiped at a decent price though.

At least I didn't buy a Chevy LOL! Plus it's a used vehicle! It doesn't matter if it's a GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota or Honda all of them are gambles when you buy used!

And no I'm not getting a Toyota till the tires fall off of this truck and then I'll still have to think about it! I still love this truck and not regretting getting it. It tows better, more space, more range, seating is more comfortable (that includes 2nd AND 3rd gen Tacos), rides smoother, AWD, no worry about frame or body rust, 4 wheel disk brakes, more power, bigger bed and the list goes on for why this truck is a better fit for me! Unlike some people on the forum (not saying you guys) I use my truck like a truck and not just a daily driver so all of those things are nice to have! Plus I'm not the offroading type so the larger size isn't a big deal!

Gotcha, my brand new 1989 Ford Ranger drove me to my brand new 1992 Toyota Extra-cab V6 5spd 4x4 truck. Owned and loved that truck for 14 years. Unfortunately the head gaskets went twice in and out of warranty in the first 4 years but Toyota fixed them both times no charge to me. No other issues and sold it within a day for crazy resale. But was documented fully maintained.

We purchased a lease return 2003 Nissan Pathfinder that replaced the Toyota in 2006 when our first child came along. Drove that for 15 years with just basic maintenance. Basically we wore it out. Time for a new vehicle.

Always wanted another Toyota Truck despite the 2 head gasket failures on our 1992 because of the positive way Toyota and the dealership treated me. Sentimentally my wife and I had so many great trips camping, hiking, canoeing and exploring in our old Toyota before kids so that was another reason.

I actually had a F150 Eco boost as a consideration when looking instead of the Tacoma. After my experience with my brand new 89 Ranger, it put me off on Fords for life. Despite that, I researched the F-150 a lot and was quite impressed. Around the same time I was given a new 2018 F-150 4X4 3.5L eco boost work truck and was even more impressed. But I eventually stuck with getting a Tacoma due to my past experiences with the Ranger. Trust issues with Ford and Ford dealerships.

You are correct tho about the functionality of the F150. Would have been awesome for my young family of 4. Sticking with the Tacoma there are trade-offs but we still make it work.

I know your Tacoma was written off but didn’t know you had suffered a transmission issue as well before the accident with your Tacoma. Now you are facing that crap again with the Ford! Uggg!

Finding a good used Tacoma at a reasonable price can be so frustrating. I initially did not want a new Tacoma. I really wanted a good used Tacoma too. The selection at the time with the amount of miles was just stupid. That really pushed me towards a new one.

Yes, you are correct. Buying used you never know. Sometimes brand new you have issues too. We got lucky on our used 2003 Pathfinder. Turned out to be a very reliable and a solid family SUV while raising a family. That thing was made in Japan. I did not consider another one as Nissan was taken over by Renault and quality went downhill apparently for the Pathfinder in 2005.

Anyhow, we all build experiences over the years and get entrenched in our positions. Your a young guy with many years left to get experience with many more vehicles. Enjoy your F150 and hopefully they get it fixed and you have no more issues in the future!

‘Unlike some people on the forum (not saying you guys) I use my truck like a truck and not just a daily driver’ @Squirt I feel personally attacked. But true :anonymous:

Ford makes a nice vehicle. The Maverick makes more sense than the Tacoma for 97% of buyers, myself included.

They're pretty nice little trucks! If I could have 2 vehicles I'd prefer to get a Maverick over a sedan!

    Yeah, but the shift dial:jpow:

Tbh, if the maverick was a thing when I was looking to get my truck, maybe I would be driving a ford instead. I'm very glad it wasn't though!

Hey just cuz it is used as a work truck doesn't mean it can't be treated like a show truck:facepalm:

It makes the paint feel like glass. :bananadance:

East coast trails do not allow for having paint on your vehicle... Theres more scratches then actual paint left

Same here in AZ, we have a term called "AZ Pinstripes." The bushes we have here scratch the heck out of your paint if you so much as look at them wrong.

Found a leak in the basement. Turns out it's condensation leaking from a crack in the exhaust pipe for the furnace. :frusty:
