Alright alright, it is 95% installed!

Just need to clearance the grill, and buy 2 bolts at home depot tonight.

@MattCowsmasher here are the pics that will help you with the install.

Since it sits up and closer to the front, you have to take away :sawzall: a few inches of the grill and headlight support perches.

The easy thing to do here would be leave the cross support out and say its done . We wanted to put it back in and have my headlights properly supported. So we did.

Drilled a few holes, put some nuts and bolts. Now it is more sturdy then when we started, since the perches are shorter.

    :woot:

    :sawzall:

The only thing left is to cut some notches in my grill on each side for perfect fitment.

    :yay:

Man that’s awesome thanks for tagging me. The one I went to look at had already been spoken for I was 2nd in line. I’ll find another deal on one.

This model 3423130 tucks up and into the front of the truck so close. It is like 3" more high clearance than the 3423140 model.

Just need to get the little cheeks below the headlights installed. Some zipties are going to assist in that I am pretty sure.

I hope to finish it all up tonight.

Did'nt have time to finish grinding and painting it yesterday. It was a long day to get the bumper on :bananadead:

Should get around to messing with it tonight, but cant go upto the hobby shop with the drill press until tomorrow.

I am not sure if you looked at the hardware bag that came with the bumper at all, but 4 nuts in retaining clips came as rusted solid parts. Or shattered remains of them. They are used to mount the 'splash guard' that sits between the bumper and lower stock mount bar.

Found these at work, need 4. Have 3. I think my buddy who helped with the install has some as well, since we both work in IT and these are used to mount some hardware in to racks.

Called cage nuts you can order this online I think the bolt size is like m-10 not 100% sure. You could probably get by with a lock washer and nut in grade 8 if you can reach it with your free hand.

Was busy last night right after work, got the fit and finish of the front end complete. :cookiemonster:

    1.) Notched the grill

2.) Got the little cheeks in place with some zipties. I took the black part that is on to the headlight in the corner with 2 screws off. Drilled a hole in the part that sticks out of it, that allowed me to get another ziptie onto the cheek for perfect tension.

All done, hood and grill have a perfect flat line again. Grill is not touching anything now.

I guess I also installed a bench on the front of my truck

Love this bumper so much :fistbump:

    Thanks Matt!

My buddy who helped me install it has really showed me I can do more. Just have to be confident and think it through before I attack it.

Never thought I would be able to do this much work on my own truck, and I am just getting started with learning.

So far everything has turned out great :bananadance:

Got the new cage nuts from my buddy, they are M6 so it was easy to just get some bolts that fit them. All new hardware for the splash guard installed.

Only wiring the turn signals and fog lights is left.

Had to get 2 new bolts for attaching the bumper to the frame support. Only 4 of the original bolts came with it. All 6 are installed now. Bumper secure!

Just cant resist going up to the auto hobby shop and wrenching on the rig :cookiemonster:

Spacers for the 2" receiver plate finished.

Final grinding for clearance on the welds of the receiver completed.

    :welder:
Looks great, just need grade 8 nuts and bolts tomorrow it will be installed.

Also moved the Firestik up onto the ARB bumper to see if I like it there, did not move the cable yet. When I installed this CB setup, I envisioned exactly what I have now. So I installed it with a cable long enough to reach to the bumper. Just have to unravel it and run it along to the front. :taco:
