15 taco blowing from feet and defrost when only set on feet. I was told all the tacomas do this.

I have a 15 tacoma and I bought it slightly used from a dealer and took it in to get it looked at because the blower blows air from both feet and defrost when set only on feet. They said they checked multiply other tacomas and they all did this. "It's Normal operation". I'm wondering if this really is the case and all do this or if the dealership just didn't want to deal with it.

I'm fairly certain my 15 doesn't do that

I never heard of something like that before. My 96 don't do that. If it is the case that they said that I need to get it fixed and find a new shop. They have already misdiagnosed my truck and wanted to charge me about 500 to remove the adaleaf when it was the shock that were bad.

My 06 does it. To an extent. In the manual it says that the settings are for where the most air goes and you may get air from any or all other diffusers. Or words to that effect.

I would be ok if was a little bit but it's almost as much as when you put it on the feet and defrost. It's a lot of air being moved out the defroster. Is there a way to adjust any linkage to close that off or is it all on servos and vacuume.

My 15 does this but maybe not as dramatically as you are describing. If I set it at feet I'd say 85% of the air goes that way.

Normal. I like it because I usually leave it on the feet only setting once I've initially defrosted, then the trickle of air coming out the defrost keeps the windshield from fogging up or freezing while driving.

That's enough for me. I'll run with that. As long as I'm not the only one. Sounds like that'll be the norm. Thank guys.

WRT 2nd generation Tacoma's, there is no difference between feet and feet & defrost setting with respect to where the air is being blown. The only change that happens when you select feet & defrost is that the AC compressor is turned on to remove moisture from the air inside the truck.

The foot setting on my 15 leaves much to be desired. Only when its very cold do i notice its lack of power, but compared to others its not powerful. OP your situation doesn't sound far fetch as air isnt always 100% either way, but the control isn't precise at all and i bet varies from truck to truck
