There ya go, lesson learned. To be honest you did more than I did. I didn't really know what to look for at all when I got mine 3 years ago, I just liked the looks of the truck. I could have been screwed and not even known it. At least you questioned it. Thanks to this site I'm now much more knowledgeable

Best thing to do is forget this thread and enjoy the truck.

Yep, time to move on. Now to find out how to level it out. Need a tool box and some step bars, wife is vertically challenged and I'm not far behind her.
Thanks for all the comments and help guys.

The thing is.... did the dealer list it as a TRD OR and did you pay more because of that. I would go back to the dealer and raise a little hell if they did.... cus, really fuck dealerships, fucking scumbags, they dont even know their own product.

It's embarrassing how little the salesmen know about the vehicles they're selling. I've bought a ridiculous amount of vehicles over the years and have yet to meet a salesman that knew the vehicle better than I did from a little bit of internet research.

It's no secret that salesmen are dishonest and dealerships will do anything to get a sale. But the buyer is always responsible for doing research, regardless of the item or the price. If you buy a piece of unripe fruit or mistakenly buy the wrong luxury jet, you still handed over the money. OP could have taken 10 minutes to google "toyota tacoma trim levels" or "toyota tacoma locking diff button".

I'm not defending the dealership, nor am I shitting on the OP. If you do anything in life that involves money, it never hurts to take some time to do the research.

But OP doesn't seem too bothered by it, so let bygones be bygones.

To keep someone from getting their-panties-in-a-wad I have deleted the TRD OR from my vehicle description.

Happy New Year everyone. And remember don't try to drink it all tonight, there will be plenty left for tomorrow!!!

If it makes you feel better the dealer snuck in a powertrain warranty into my payment. My fault as well. Warranty is 5 yr 60,450 miles. Cost was $2,800. Factory warranty was 60,000 miles so it was useless. I called Toyota and got my 2800 back so I made out 2800 better on the truck and already thought I was ahead of the game before. Dealers are scum because consumers like us don't always pay attention when excited about a new vehicle.
