Nice one, I got a good laugh out of that....specifically the coffin :).

To her credit, she's the one that pushed me to get them when I second guessed the $$. Gotta love supportive wives!!!! Plus she grew up in an family that 4 wheeled all the time so she get it and that was one of the MANY motivations for the Taco....she's a keeper!

Basically got it fully kitted out, even got the MTM monitor for the downward side cameras to see front tire clearance from inside the truck. It's a gimmick, I get it...but I wanted it. I'm an off-roading noob and wanted all the bells and whistles since I've waited so long to get this truck (it is the Tacoma of my dreams for sure) and I plan on keeping it for at least the next 15 years at a minimum. But in all honesty, don't know if I'll ever get rid of it. Had the dealer swap out the stock rims and tires since I got a discount on the Pro rims and K02 since they were new and they can just use them for another truck/parts. The discount was good enough I went for it. Had them throw the TRD exhaust in the truck since I'm not going to pay them to install what I can in a short amount of time. Other than that, planning to put full skids, sliders, a-arm, rear diff and fuel tank plates on before summer. Then it will be time to take a break on mods and get some solid trail time. I'm sure I'll do a 2" - 3" lift at some point and maybe a high entry front/rear mod at some point.

I almost bought a Taco back in 2008, just couldn't stomach the $$ at the time. Just bided my time and saved and saved and saved a boat load of $ to put down. This year ended up being the year to finally pull the trigger and I couldn't be happier!

Just never seemed to be the "right" time to make it happen and I'm a big penny pincher. My financial brain wouldn't let my desire get over the cost until I saved up a HEFTY down payment. Ended up throwing ~ 65% down. Put that monthly payment in a comfortable spot. Plus I HATE payments, had not had a car payment in over 18 years.

I'd looked at a lot of used ones, 3-4 yr old with around 10k - 20k miles and they were only around 5k-6k off a new one....so I kept saving. Plus my father-in-law owned his own used lot; sold almost exclusively Toyota's before he retired. He said "those are the cars I like to sell since it's the only brand that doesn't come back to the lot". He told me many times that he'd find me one at auction but I was better off buying a new one since the resale value is so good on them.

Is that a Pro grill? Did the dealer swap that for you? I heard they would not do that.

Already on that list :). RCI was who I was looking at to begin with, so I was excited to see that. Pretty interested to see what the group buy discount will be. That will be the determining factor in the end.

I'm surprised they did that for you lol. Usually toyota will bitch about it and disarm the sensor if you come in with a TRD Pro grille because of "liability".

Well anyway, its a sexy truck and army green was the perfect choice!

    Did they warranty the grill?

Sales guy we worked with was super cool. We bought my wife's 19 Camry XSE from him. Plus her cousin is a sales manager at that dealer and the guy that manages their parts dept. is a buddy from high school.....SOOO not they typical person coming into a dealer situation. The whole thing is under their 5yr warranty :). Never heard an peep about liability concerns.

On a side note, the one thing I didn't even think about and was pleasantly surprised by is the front camera and the MTM system (camera under each side mirror). It gives me a 360° view on the screen (did not expect or anticipate that)! I'm a research junky and I didn't even know about that. Super handy when parking in the garage. Didn't even need to get out and make sure I was in far enough the 1st time I parked it (of course I checked, what idiot wouldn't) to clear the garage door....and I need that reassurance since my old ride was an 05 Civic. Not used to parking a truck in the garage.

Very nice. If that's a OEM bed cover in the back you should just sell it in the box. Things leak like crazy

TRD Exhaust :). No way I was gonna by the OEM tonneau cover. I've heard the same thing....not a quality accessory. Not sure if I'll get a bed cover or opt of an overland rack down the road, time will tell.

I put a Decked system in mine. Definitely worth it for the extra storage. Little heavy though
