Tuned up my 2007 4.0 today. Last tuneup was at 120,000 miles. the Denso plugs looked good. The owners manual says change them so I did. I decide to change my PCV, as I have never checked the valve. The old one definately needed cleaning, but I put the new one in since I had bought it when I bought the plugs. I also cleaned out the old hose and put new spring clamps on. The vehicle looks great and runs like new. The earlier 4.0's had a few issues with the timing chain cover leaking, so I changed out the PCV to hopefully avoid this leak in the future. Just a heads up to those that have the older 4.0. What an amazing engine. Steve.

I changed mine at approx 135,000. It still rattled but was dirty. Genuine Toyota replacement was pretty cheap so I feel good about having a new one in there.

My 4.0 has +140,000 on it and runs as good or better than new. Truly an amazing product!

I changed my PCV 1 time with a $7 OEM purchased at the dealer at 30k, and the engine now has 103k. PCV swaps are good maintenance, but its probably the lowest priority replacement part as long as the oil is changed between 5k to 7k miles..which helps keep the PCV freely moving.

TT1, the package refers to a Valve Sub-Assy. 12204-31030. I didn't follow a DIY so I can't help you with that part. The process is very much the same as changing a spark plug, with the addition of cleaning the ventilation hose. hope that helps you.
