Hey, I'm new here. My name is Casey, blablabla. I have a 1995 2.7L tacoma that the head gasket recently went out on. Looks like it is going to be about $800ish to fix that. $3200 for a rebuilt long block and $2000 for an aftermarket online. What would you guys do? Is there any high performance 2.7's worth looking at? Supra swap? I would love your opinions.

    p.s. yes, I used the search...:D

I'd pull the head and get it checked for warpage.

If warped, get it machined and put it back together with a high quality head gasket.

I'm trying to decide if at that many miles I should just get a long block and swap it out. Seems a little on the early side for the head gasket to go.

I'd run an engine compression test to get an idea of engine health.
I'd check timing chain slop which can affect timing and cause other damage if very loose.
Inspect oil for metal or coolant contamination.
    Also what Steve said.
