Sorry to hear that. You might need to make it down next month to maybe ocotillo wells. Hope everyone had a nice new years. I did a day trip in ocotillo wells on the 30th. Nice weather. See everyone in a few weeks.

The taco should hopefully be running next weekend if I'm not roped into family stuff or the weather gets in the way.

Should've swung down to Super and say hi

We had a great time down there. The dunes have definitely changed a little bit since last year. Sand is a little soft right now too so should keep things interesting

We didn't venture down that way or I would have said Hi. Did you camp in the cove? Ocotillo wells was actually wet in the big washes. Really nice damp sand. Hills were dry though.

no I wish, we were camped off of Wheeler.

I thought I had noticed a few trucks rolling around with Mud on them. The wind is what made everything so soft, it really churned up the dune sand. There were a couple times I was having a harder time finding the proper path on the sand highway

Anybody heading out there on the 18th? I might go the night before to save drive time and camp nearby.

@MadTaco461 do we have a tentative list of attendees for this year? I'm hoping to make it but may possibly be in Mammoth for a ski trip.

I'm trying to get out there. Probably only after dark on the 20tho_O

is sunday gonna be hours of fun or is it pack and flee?

I'm 2wd and on SLs rn so if my plan is indeed to arrive at night I will be requesting standby/escort. I joined a camp out here (north of superstition) once in the past, drove south from the 78 in a car. That is the access I am familiar with.

most people pack and flee. If I have the time and energy I might be down for a small Sunday run.

If you don't get there too late on the 20th you can still take part in the traditional Sand Dam night run, which is the best part of the trip anyways

I'm a horrible camp host and too lazy for list. It's too messy unless it is something like the San G trip with organized campsites. Sounds like a good amount of the same cast of characters. Few new and few can't make it.
