Go to a different dealer or call Toyota. They replace these on modded trucks all the time. Let the other and Toyota know you won't be buying a vehicle from them. Toyota wants to keep brand loyalty. This isn't a real expensive fix for them.

Ya, don't know why they're being shits. Did mine without arguing. Had 5100s at the time and dura tracs. Got my wife a new Highlander recently, based off pretty good dependability on mine. Plus her explorer constantly had something wrong with it. Even had to replace the transfer case at like 40k, or whatever the unibody car version they use is called. Found out later they sourced it from their cars, so it's weak. Anyway lol

Hello. I have been searching around threads and I think this is the issue with my 2018 TRD. The groaning (1 per second) goes away in 4wd. Owners who have had this issue can you tell me if you could feel it in the steering wheel and brake pedal. Mine is not loud. It also seems to be worse on cold morning for whatever reason this may be. I have taken it to Toyota and they told me they took the truck for 2 test drives and didn't notice it. It is 3 month later and It feels worse. . I'm trying to get all my fact together before taking it back in. I am going on a long road trip next month and would really not spend my vacation broken down. Thanks for any input, much appreciated.

If I remember right, seems like I could feel it. If I recall, first time they did the same to me. Came back with the printed tab that says it goes away when you put in 4wd and made them ride with me. I drove. I was like, you feel that vibration, then put it in 4wd. See how it's gone? Oh ya, they said. Did it after that. Anyway, if they keep giving you shit, take it to another dealer or call toyota. Pretty sure I've got 100k on mine so far with no issues. Let us know how it goes.

So how long can you drive with the shitty bearing? It might be my imagination but I can feel it.

Thank you, this is what I will do this week. TB in hand, you can definitely tell that it goes away in 4WD. I took my wife for a drive and had her sit as a passenger and she could notice it. If they give me shit i will take it to another Dealer.

My buddy has a second gen with like 180k on it. I rode with him and felt it. He said it did it since like 40k. He just recently got around to swapping in new bushing to replace it. He never knew what was causing it till I mentioned what it likely was. Never noticed it went away in 4wd till I told him to try.

Ok I have a 1000 mile drive coming up on the 10th so I don’t want to be stranded somewhere.

It's more likely you'd shoot a testicle out your ass, then that stranding you. Don't worry. It's more just an irritant than anything. I drove around 20-30k on mine vibrating. Just changed it cause I was still in warranty. Otherwise I'd just have ignored it. My chirping throw out bearing is more irritating. But it's fine for me. Truck is great otherwise
