It is a complete front differential replacement. Read the first post with the TSB.

I had them do it when they installed my OME lift as a preventative measure. I believe they had one in stock as the dealer carries a lot of aftermarket stuff for our trucks. Michaels Toyota in Bellevue, great dealer to work with.

    Excellent. And, local!

I will keep that in mind. I got mine at Rodland. I was only in the service department once for a quick wash. They seemed to only have Toyota stuff on display.

Very cool. I might stop in since I work not far away.

No. I've given up on social media. It is a beautiful thing to see a blank FB feed. o_O

Because "It is a complete front differential replacement. Read the first post with the TSB."

Meaning i probably wouldn't have to worry about future problem (after warranty ).

Yeah, I can read. Still not sure I agree with your thought process. No, wait... I'm sure.

You have a 60k mile drivetrain warranty, also this is no guarantee that that new diff fixes the issue (which you don't even have). What's the new part Toyota is putting in?

This is a good sign, Toyota may have fixed the problem correctly by machining the side gear and making it right in the housing and taking that slop of the axle which is the problem to begin with. The axle slides into the side gear and it has so much play in there that it wears out the needle bearing very quick that’s why the bushing replacement works so great because it keeps the axle stable doesn’t allow it to move around. My2017 got this issue immediately after I did a 1 inch lift in the front. I bought the bushing and took it all apart and I could totally see what the problem is and hopefully Toyota fixed it

That is a lot of assumption going on.

Thankfully, mine is in the very early stages. Hopefully, folks will report what is going on with this.

Yes, but let me explain I feel that must be something pretty big if you’re changing that whole front differential if it was just a bushing or new needle bearing or redesign needle bearing or something they wouldn’t be changing out the whole third number it has to be something internal and if they did fix the side gear/housing that would explain why they have to change the whole differential. Just a thought
