Dude check the attitude. He's trying to help out members like me that want the extra light for off-roading or for driving in rural areas. When approaching oncoming traffic the high beams are turned off leaving the normal setup of low beams and fog lights. So how is this being a dick?

I turn on fogs whenever I need the fogs. It's not a dick move anymore than using daytime running lights during the day or headlights at night.

This guy needs to cool his tits.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Why not install a light bar for night-time off-roading? Much better light.

    More light versus less light...

    Tastes great versus less filling...

Not sure I understand the new trend of turning on fog lights only and not headlights but there are a lot of things I do not understand. I see several vehicles every day doing this.

Dearest, @caribe makaira , the kindest of gentleman...

Would you have any insight into a/the Locker-Anytime modification for the 2016-2017 Off Road 4x4 model?

We, as a community, would be ever grateful for any help or assistance in this matter.

It would be....complicated, internal 4WD ECU interlocks aside.
The 4WD ECU converts the switched ground from the locker switch, to a pulsed waveform power circuit used by the diff lock coil.
This makes simply bypassing the 4WD ECU a no-go.
You could probably source a pulse generator circuit with the correct voltage and wave form to get around it.

I don't know... I'll let him speak for himself.
I was just trying to provide some insight. ;)

Pulse duty solenoids generate large forces for a short time, but heat quickly.
This is one reason for not running your locker for extended periods.
It's probably why ARB uses air to actuate theirs.

Sourcing the correct power supply with a 12V input and 5V/500ms output is the biggest hurdle I've encountered.

I knew of the control module that was stopping us but I didn't know what was actually happening.

I have a friend in 2 wheel drive 2016 off road who uses his locker for long periods of time. His is fine

I should have said "comparatively speaking", when describing and comparing a pulsed duty solenoid.
Out of curiosity, how fast and how long does your friend drive with the diff locked.

Without knowing exactly what interlocks are present in the 4WD ECU, yes.
    Even then...
Things like the ADD switch position and transfer case switch position are easy to fool the input side of the 4WD ECU into seeing. But, internal interlocks on the output for those things is a possibility.
The real deal killer is possibly the skid control ECU data fed by CAN.

I thought GM schematics were bad, those suck. No wonder toyota techs can't fix anything.

But it looks like you could just tie the coil grounds together on the fog light and high beam relays. Would bypass the fog light switch, but they would come on with high beams. And work normal in low beam.
