I went from stock 17 TRD sport wheels to 16 FJ Cruiser Trail Team wheels because that's what i wanted. But having the larger tire sidewall is better for wheeling and the overall feel is better in my opinion with the 16.Good luck!

All of the above, plus small wheels and fat tires look badass! Also tires are slightly cheaper for 16s

33's will fit with a 3" lift...you will also have to trim a little bit and do a cab mount chop

You do not need to do a cab mount chop unless you are really going to wheel hard. I have the OME 887 coils for just under 3" lift with 285/75/16 duratracs. Trimmed the bumper quite a bit and just a little off the fender. I do not wheel it though, just dirt roads for fishing and hunting. I think you will like the OME lift. I would recommend the 887 coils to anyone, I love my setup! I also don't have UCAs but plan to get them in the future.

Anything over 2.5" of lift it is HIGHLY recommended to get new UCAs.

Not needed, just recommended. I am running stock UCAs and it drives fine, but the alignment doesn't feel perfect. Toyota aligned it and said everything aligned just fine, but it isn't as perfect as it was before the lift. I am getting LRs soon. If you plan on wheeling a lot or are really anal about how it drives you should definitely get them.

I wouldnt shop at 4 wheel parts unless you want the same modified tacoma i see all day. They do dealer packages, nfab step bars, 5100, block in rear, pro comp tires and method or american eagle wheels. They want you to get 17s bc thats where the flashy wheels with big margins are. There arent too many options in 16 that they can get that have a large appeal to mall crawler types who will overpay for there "package"

Op dont mean to upset you if you feel it is targeted at you, its not. The issue is that 4wp is marketing to customers who have cash and dont know or want to research whats out there. They know what they make the most money on and it becomes a "Package"

There is abosolutley no reason other than your preference to go 17 or 16

    Yeah get 16s.
there a some wheel companies on here that have very classy looking wheels that are designed to fit our trucks well.

Fnwheels, SCS, and method wheels are popular and will have a more purpose built designs and less bling

    ok so im going with OME 3'' 877 springs / SCS F5 Wheels 4.5 backspacing 0 offset/ 33'' toyo ATll tires/ Dakar leaf springs 2.5 /
    head strong UCAs

How does this build sound? and am I missing anything? do I need to trim for the wheels/tires?
