Hello. I am in the process of choosing between buying a 2015 Prerunner or TRD. The TRD obviously comes with 17" wheels and tires vs. the stock 16" on the Prerunner. I am wondering if the TRD with the 17" wheels is really "too much wheel" for my needs.

Right now I am driving a base 2012 Access Cab with 15" wheels, so anything would be an improvement in terms of looks. I will only be doing highway driving, so the 17" wheels might be a waste or somehow impractical. Not being "a car guy" I don't know if the larger 17" wheels have any limitations or disadvantages that I should know about, like ride, cost, etc. We have a 2014 all-electric Rav4 with 17" wheels and wheels and I have never given it a thought, but on a Tacoma, there might be some factors that are unknown to me.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated. The choice between the two models will be hard enough, but I thought I could at least learn more about the wheel and tire size part of the equation.
