When I was shopping for these I checked prices with big O on Yokohama never said anything about that. I’m also in Nor Cal where it really doesn’t get that hot here very often. This tire is great love it

What differences have you noticed in handling, performance, mpg, etc., if any? I know theoretically there is a difference, but in reality is it noticeable? Thanks!

I’m not who you asked, but I did the same and chose 17s because they were easier to find tires for, and the overall package was lighter than it would’ve been with a 16 inch wheel to get to the same / similar size final dimension. Although I went to 285s, I feel like the hit to gas mileage was minima, but I have a tune, CAI, and the tires are fairly aggressive. When I did my calculations, I remember the total 16 inch wheel tire been somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 pounds minimum with some combinations being closer to 85 or more. My 17 inch set up is running me about 69 pounds total per wheel. There was a lot more selection in the 17s, and I ended up with a tire that I think it’s a good hybrid between a skinny and normal to 33”.

If you want a bigger tire, I would just go with the bigger tire and less you drive your vehicle as a commuter vehicle the mileage in the end really won’t make that much of a difference. Remember as your tire gets larger, your computer is going to also be off, it’s enough to make some people panic about the hit to gas mileage.
