$1650 for a new complete engine wire harness?

For the other ones who only write a reply to make fun about somebody who is in a bad situation with his truck, please keep your comments, nobody needs them.

 

Tell us the symptoms of the truck and we will help diagnose the problem.

• Does it crank?
• Have you checked all fuses, relays, and inertia switch?
• Do you have spark? Fuel pressure?
• When was the last time it ran?

The more details we have, the more we can pin point where to look.

 

Truck looks brand new, tried recoding key, wants to replace ignition module, is very defensive about his story. Sounds like a stolen truck to me.

 

We already tried re-coding, and no, its not robbed, I did all the documentation when buying the truck with the same guy who bought it from the dealer previously, I guess its just a stupid connector or fuse or relay i dont know. we'll see

 

If that truly is the case, its time to break out the multimeter and the FSM.

haha that's me months ago, im still with the same problem .

 

Get you a wet sponge and a small metal crowbar. Make sure you grab that crowbar in the middle, using wet sponge as insulation (sucker will get hot). Touch the crowbar on both ends to the pos and neg terminals

oh, forgot to mention , the truck has 1270 miles. The engine spins but dont starts, connection to fuel pump ok, recoded keys. All fuses and relays checked ok . Next step will be a new ignition and if doesn´t start i think i will just shoot myself.

 

When a vehicle is in a wreck (airbags deployed is what I'm thinking) doesn't the computer shut off fuel and electrical. then have to be reset? Is airbag light on?

 

you´re right, we already reseted everything we could reset.

 

The vehicle is still in Toyotas warranty period in terms of time/mileage.

If they can't prove the issue was related to the accident, the warranty should handle the repair.

And there's no way a 'small body damage' totaled a 35k vehicle.

 

If the engine spins why are you even looking at the starter than? Do you have spark?

Funny story here, I have actually had a customer bring his 4 wheeler to me with a list of things he already changed. Starter, fuel injector, fuel pump, and key switch. It still wouldn't start. I took a quick look, snapped the spark plug boot back on the plug tip, and guess what, that sucker started. He felt like a dumbass. I didn't even charge him my diagnostic fee.

 

You said you hooked up a scanner, what were the faults it read? Check to see if you get fuel out of the fuel line on the LH side of the intake while cranking.
