    2003 3.4 engine, is anyone doing this themselves? or should i have toyota do the work ( $600.00)

    If you are comfortable pulling the upper intake off, it is really not such a bad job. You will need a FSM though. You can get around needing the SST with a couple of screwdrivers. You would want to make sure your dealer has shims in stock before you start.

    Wow looks fun. I wanted to do this a few years ago on my 3.4 at 250,000 miles and my mechanic friends talked me out of it with some very sound rationale and still going strong.

    You honestly have 250k on your truck? that's awesome?

    I am sitting at 169k, What should I consider keeping an eye in order for it to keep it going?
