Thats a good point, and I don't have a positive answer. Although I can say that without the flaps the rocks will tear up your paint.

I don't know how reputable that site is, might want to see where others bought their Terra Grapplers at. Might be a tad more expensive at a reputable place, but being that they're $126 there, I'm sure you'll still be able to find them for under $150.

The overall diameter of the tire does not change with rim size. A 31x10.5x16 is the same overall size as a 31x10.5x17. Only difference is the amount of sidewall you have exposed.

Check your local tire shops for that tire. It will save you a ton of money not having to pay shipping. I got my Nittos at Goodyear(w/free road hazard, lifetime bal & rotate) for a lot less than Tire rack.com. Tire rack with shipping & install would have been $50 a tire more.

.. and yet you chose UNC....

You did at least choose the best looking wheel out there IMO- so you can't lose. If you can do 16s then I would since supposedly you are more limited in tire options with the 17s.
When are you going to get this done? I eventually will do the same DC-1 blacks with the Terra Grapplers, so I would love to see pics once your hooked up.

Oh and watch out tonight in Tallahassee :D

16 inch wheels give you a broader spectrum of tires available as far as sizing goes and also 17" tires can be much more expensive. I have swapped my factory 17's for TRD 16" wheels for that exact reason. Also more rubber is better at your side wall for wheelin.
