I searched but didn’t come up with anything and I did I must have missed it. I’m looking at picking up a Trd pro and curious what’s different from 17-21? I know each year has a “special” color. Same motors, same auto trans? Any must have updates on the later models?

There are production differences that are across the Tacoma line like SafteySense... but for TRDPro only changes, the only ones I am aware of is the suspension tune and lighter wheels and LED headlamps on '19 and newer. ( and the already mentioned snorkel )

2020+ have power seat (driver), HID head lights, Apple CarPlay / AndroidAuto, matte black redesigned wheels, and remote start (both on key and Toyota app).

I believe in 2018 the graphics package and sunroof became available on the pro. No change from 2018 to 2019.

So sounds like 20-21 is the way to go. I like the cement gray but that’s a 17 only. Lunar seems too mint to me. MGM might be the ticket. Thanks for the help.

2020+ wheels are 4.1 lbs lighter each, compared to the 2019 and prior. Also the front spring rates were changed on the 2020+, because of that.

    Canada Eh!

For 2020+ I would certainly include the addition of 4+ lb lighter wheels (each)

2019 had a mandatory desert air intake in certain parts of the US and all of Canada. 2020 got rid of that.

It was certainly not "mandatory" in certain parts of US. I was in SW region, NE region and Midwest and both w and w/out were available. Canada I know was a different story. Still was an option in 2020 as well here in the states.

I recall folks on this forum stating it was a mandatory “port” upgrade in certain areas. If not, then great.

4lbs per corner of rotating mass IS definitely substantial. In the wheel world, that’s a big deal.
Not to mention I think most people probably think the 2020+ wheels look better as well. The 2017-2019 were just “meh” for me.

It wasn't, unless it was GST which they are known for that nonsense, certainly a lot of them though that were spec'd with and plenty left over still for sale on cars.com, lol. Wheels are definitely better in my opinion, but from a mid size truck standpoint not really worried about wheel weight.
