17' Taco Pro vs Runner Pro, Whose KING?

Title says it all. Stick both pros (STOCK) on a hill. Whose the ultimate setup?

Toyota practically dominates when it comes to stock off-road vehicles. Let's ignore the whole pickup vs suv discussion, and just look at off-road ability

Buy a Jeep Wrangler.

 

I drove a stock wrangler off-road and i thought it was going to break. The thing was rattling more than old runner full of tools

 

As others have said... this isn't true. A Rubicon will offroad circles around both.

 

Have you guys had a good experience with jeeps off-road? I've had a horrible experience. I had to change a tire on a stock wrangler, and that's when i realized how tiny the springs on it are.

 

No idea what you got into but my 09 Wrangler Rubicon was a solid vehicle. Well put together, didn't have any rattles or issues.

Kind of miss it, really, but my needs changed.

 

The 4Runner will be better then the taco. Shorter and with KDSS system will be the best of the 2 Toyotas.
The best, by far is the Jeep Rubicon.

 

Btw, I total miss my Jeep. Biggest mistake of my life was going to this Taco. I've been trying to trade it but can't take a 15,000 dollar hit.

 

I've owned 4 jeeps. I put them through a lot of abuse and they never let me down.

 

Well i've had the best car experience with toyota, so that's pretty much my decision. Nobody has done a head to head of the new pros... thought it would've been a need thread

 

Nopes. KDSS ain't gonna help off road and the 4runner is too top heavy.

I’d love to have both Jeep and Taco. With doors and top off, Jeep is a helluvalotta fun. Really enjoyed mine. I also really like my 17 TRD OR. Goes anywhere I need it to go. Also a helluvalotta handier for hauling stuff. While a sawzall would work for removing the doors and roof, putting them back on would be a bit of a trick. Alas, no room for those plus funcar.

 

The one that can fit a bike or ATV in the bed?

 

Having owned both I'd say the 4 runner will do better. Shorter wheel base and more even weight distribution. Still love my taco though, 4 runners don't have truck beds

 

4Runner : Shorter wheelbase, large four wheel disc brakes, coil spring four link rear suspension. 4.0 v-6 with more low end torque. Superior build quality.

Tacoma : Basic pick up with rear leaf springs and drum brakes, longer wheelbase, smaller brakes in the front. new high revving V6 with diminished low-end torque. Cheaper, more aftermarket parts available.
