Factory parts are designed for factory power, and factory wheel and tire sizes. I can agree with both sides. More power will just deteriorate everything at a faster rate. Have you at least looked into re gearing maybe in the future? Turn that frown upside down and don't get it locked, pretty please lol

Oh, it's most defiantly in the plan. Didn't say it wasn't. But people that post saying no way no how you can't drive with 35's on stock gearing, etc etc either have a)unrealistic expectations b) reiterating second hand info.
I agree it will put more stress on parts and at a faster rate... but at what rate? I think how you drive is a big factor too.
Now I'm not saying I can't tell there are big heavy tires on and it drives like stock... but it's very manageable. Even more so with the ECU tune; power wasn't really a primary concern... but rather the throttle reaponse and acceleration.

OME/5100's should be a religion at this point.
Yes, preach. I beat my baby (I'll be expecting a call from CPS any minute)
    Never questioned it either brother
I understand the frustration. I think 15k a year is a good average for over stressing with your setup, maybe you don't do it. But as you said your concern was TR and acceleration. That and braking is going to be the hardest on your vehicle, cruising is easy. Its your truck nonetheless and it looks great too so.

yours are at least street tires which make sense.
sorry I see it a lot on jeeps around here and its just fuckin stupid.

you're buying tires that are meant for off road yet putting a low profile means you can't air down as you'll just mangle your wheels and not like you'll get a big footprint anyways.

You're trying to look like an aggressive off roader but look like a clown because to anyone that knows a thing or two about off roading knows its useless and can tell you're just a mall crawler. and those that don't offroad will just think you have a small penis and trying to overcompensate.

Also gives those really into off roading a bad rep in a way and embarrassing to us. Considering when my girlfriend's friend found out I wheel she started tagging me in mall crawler jeeps on facebook until my girlfriend told her thats not what its like lol.

By all means want to have a lifted truck go for it, i personally don't like it cause its non functional to me.
but I don't get why people put mud terrains when they don't wheel

For fuck sakes I wheel and I still don't put muds because on road they are utter fucking shit. they don't last long, they're noisy as hell and the slightest rain they are terrifying to be on.
I don't get why these tire manufacturers even make those tires in such a low profile lol.

Honestly yours looks fuckin sick with street tires.
Besides wasn't really hating on OP for his built besides thinking he shouldn't have M/T and think its a big mistake to let the morons at 4wheelparts touch your truck.
I've never heard a single good thing about them just horror stories.
I was mostly pointing out that those tires are very clearly only a 33.

lol I wanted to hit one of the guys I work with. he knows I go off road a lot and where we were working there was a jeep parked in the underground and he pointed it out and said 'that jeep must go off road a lot' and it was clearly a mall crawler

Might just be a local problem as well but usually the mall crawlers are the same idiots that get an urge to see if they actually can wheel and often do it on private land around here then get those that don't trespass in shit.
There's a big 4wd club here thats very particular about it for a reason. Used to be so many trails but idiots that know nothing and go on and just floor it, destroying the trails and crossing onto private land got all those trails closed down.

Sorry to OP and anyone else if I came off hostile. by all means mod your truck however you want. But just don't be a shit head and trespass and ruin it for those that really love the sport. Sorry locally anyone with trucks like these are often those that ruin it.

I believe this is un true because of the way the frame hangs lower than the control arms. There was a thread that showed it on a 2nd gen.

Here is my moded DB kit, however built for a different purpose than OP.

Rear is ~1 1/2" lower than the factory cross member.

Front is a little more, but not much. A-Arms are 3.5" lower than factory and truck has 885's. I'd say it has pretty good ground clearance with great CV and steering angle. Makes 35's fit nicely, and I have full range of travel without a huge amount of trimming. I just don't know a lot of people that would go through all the hassle of making a DB kit function this well :frusty: I've been really happy with it. Truck is solid and handles very well.

You know what? I can't hate on ur truck at all. You have street tires....its honest. At least you don't have rubber band mud terrains like all the mallbilly's do.

hey for what its worth the guy I go with that has a drop bracket its proving to be a real pain in the ass for him.
I dunno if the shop that did it fucked up or if its just a flaw with the BDS kits. but the drop bracket makes it next to impossible to remove the ADD on the front diff and he can't even get an allen key socket onto the drain plug of the diff cause the drop bracket is in the way.

So pretty shitting thing to do lol
