What recommendations do you have for Tires. I am putting a set of 17" 4runner TRD PRO rims on my Tacoma TRD Off Road. It has the stock suspension. It looks like 265/70/17 would be the size to go with, I think? In all honesty I will probably not be going off road often at all, but do have to travel 40 miles each way to work rain, shine, or snow. I want a fairly quiet tire also. KO2, Grabber ATX, Discoverer AT3 ? Any others?

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
Toyo Open Country AT2and can be had in SL rating. Great in the rain, smooth and quiet plus a 60 or 65K mile warranty. Nice tuff looking tire and they balance easy and barley take much weight. I run these on TRD Pro SEMA wheels too.

Yea, Michelin are pretty hard to beat for road tires. I have the LTX AT2’s. They certainly ride better than the KO2’s.

You will get a million different answers to this question. I say be honest for what you use the truck for and get what suits your needs. Everyone has a different tire preference. Quiet and AT tires don’t go hand in hand, a good friend on here has the discovery at3 and says their quieter then most and likes them. When my Duratracs are finished I’ll throw some Cooper St Maxx

I have the wildpeaks on the 17" 4Runner TRD wheels in 265/70/17 just like how you want. I'm very happy with them. Very quiet and capable thus far. Here's how they look.

I've used Michelin Defenders and LTX A/T2 are excellent both are smooth and quiet on the highway. Defenders are better for the snow. I have a set of Defenders on my 4Runner went off road crossed deactivated forest service roads and performance was better than expected.

Consider Bridgestone Revo 3's especially if you don't go off road that often. A bit of an outsider on this forum, and can be pricey, but see them on a lot of Trucks & SUVs around here.

Ditched the stock OR tires/wheels after 5K and went with these in 265/70-17 on 4R Pro wheels. Revo 2's worked great on my 1st Gen so went with the newer 3's this time. Wider and slightly taller stance on that soft stock OR suspension, truck looks and drives great! Great in the snow, much better than the Goodyear Wigglers, during the Huuuuge winter we had.

    Good read:

1BB10449-8F74-465A-8A57-7904A28D1C1B.jpg I just put on some Grabber ATX’s. A little louder than the stock Goodyear Kevlars. I always got over 50k with the AT2’s and hoping for the same with these. I like the way they look too.

goodyear wranglers are great, quiet on the road but work well in the snow and rain and mud. I had them on my 1st gen, my 2nd and will put them on my 3rd gen soon too.

I love my KO2s and travel 42 miles each way for work (all highway), they are holding up very well.

For milder AT tires, I really enjoyed Cooper Discover ATP on my Ram. Offered good traction in rain, snow and sunshine, gave an aggressive look without being too aggressive and were pretty quiet.

Sort of surprised no one has given you flak about the title... a 17" tire would be incredibly small on these trucks. 17" wheels though, pretty common.
