I'm running Nitto Terra Grappler G2's in 265/70/17 and just put on a set of SEMA wheels. I had them installed for a few days before I put on my OME 883's and adj 5100 Bilsteins. When I got home from Discount Tire, and backed up into my driveway, the passenger side rubbed ever so slightly. Once I put the springs/shocks on and got an alignment, no more rubbing. I have a 2006 access cab 2WD and the 883 springs are supposed to give about a 1.5" lift, FYI.

Like @Spare Parts I moved up to a 70 series, but for me rubbed on both sides. Took better pics for you if you try trimming. RekGen was another idea but after yanking the front flaps I was happy.

Thanks. I will probably just be proactive and pull my OEM mudflaps prior to installation. I might get thinner mudflaps down the road or hold off reinstalling the OEM until I decide to lift the truck.

FYI for anyone that has a 2nd gen. They will rub on the mudflaps with 265/70/17 with these wheels on both sides up front. I haven't done it yet but it looks like some minor trimming will fix it.

Anyone running spacers on these wheels? If so please post a pic or two. Wouldn’t mind having a slightly more aggressive stance.

The first Gen is my favorite... but It is very hard find one in good shape in Mexico... I looked some time, and they were very expensive.. or with a lot of miles.

I really like the look of these wheels, but want something that will stick out a little. Any one found something like that? Im trying to avoid using spacers

Edit: nevermind, I found on a different post where someone changed the pro wheels to Fuel Nitro D667 Wheels

Ahhh cool. Thanks a lot. Great job on working these out. I am leaning towards proactively removing the guards when I get new wheels and maybe getting Rekgen or something like that until I lift the truck and then check for clearance issues. This definitely gives me a template to work with though if I decide to keep the OEM.

Finally got the new wheels (17X7 TRD Pro OEM) and tires (265/70/17 UltraTerrain) installed last Friday. Stock suspension and no rub but I removed the mudflaps prior to swapping out the OEM wheels and tires. I am very pleased with this setup. The ride is only a tad bit rougher than stock and gas mileage around town hasn't changed. The tires perform well off road and feel much better than OEM in my opinion. Thanks for all the help and advice in this thread.

I can definitely see where the OEM mudflaps will rub just from the way they are designed. It's sort of an odd way to make a mudflap but it probably lends itself to being more rigid and easier for injection molding.
I went ahead and ordered some Rek Gens because our paved roads are pretty crappy here so it will help with the rocks and debris. I also didn't want to damage the OEM flaps if I want to sell them in the future.

Can I do this without CMC and UCA’s? Just spring/shock lift?

You could maybe get away without the UCAs but you're going to rub without trimming. I'm still rubbing on occasion but haven't found out where yet. It hasn't shown itself but I hear it sometimes on the half turn and full compression. Not sure if its the front or rear of the wheel well.

Ok thank you. I guess I don’t understand why I can fit 265’s stock, but not 285’s with a 2” lift.

It's the width that causes the rub not the height. You're compensating for the wrong thing by lifting.

Many can run a 255/80/17 tire without rub and it's taller than a 285/70/17; all because the 255 /80 is narrower.
