Hey everyone, I'm brand new to the site and just bought my first truck a couple of weeks ago. It's a 2014 TRD sport DCLB and so far I'm really happy with it. I am looking at buying some Fuel Hostage wheels in a 17" diameter and 8.5" width. Sorry for posting about a common topic but it seems like everyone here is pretty cool so hopefully you wont mind and can help me out. There are two options for this wheel size, +14 o/s with 5.25" backspace or +25 o/s with 5.75" backspace. I saw some postings about the +14 o/s option but could not find anyone who had the +25 o/s wheels. Anyone running this size on their truck? Anyone know if they will fit or how far they will stick out vs. the stock wheels? BTW im going to keep the OEM 265/65/R17 tires with the new wheels for now. If you could help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    Too few to list.
If you ever plan on going to a bigger size, you would need 4.5" back spacing. I believe the offset of the stock 17x7.5" wheels are 29, 5.5 bs.

If your not going to lift your truck or go to a bigger size tire stay with the +14. If you do plan on lifting and getting bigger tires I would steep up to a 17x9 w a +1 or -12.

Its exactly what your looking at accept I went with the octane wheel
And yes the black hostage wheel will look amazing on your truck

Also check out my thread here bellow. You will need the Gorilla ET lugs to run those wheels safely!

    Fuel Octane 17x8.5 +14 offset 5.25bs 106.4 bore
Great thing about this size and offset is that your factory mug guards can still do their job

Thanks for the help guys, hey Blazze no problems with your wheels clearing the brake calipers/suspension parts right? Your wheels look good, they stick out a little bit but not too far. Thats the look I am going for too.

No clearence problems once so ever. Plenty of room for calipers and not even close to rubbing the control arm. I love my new wheels. Im getting tons of compliments.

Other great new is I'm back to getting 20mpg again. I was only getting 15.5mpg when I was running 18x9
Also the ride is so nice now...The Geolander ats are exactly what I had hope
    Aggressive but smooth

Here you go...it has 2 stainless threaded studs on rear of emblem
All mounting hardware included. I will take pics of side of it after work.
I added those stainless hex bolts to it for some more color

Ended up going with the Fuel Hostage 17"x8.5" with the +25 offset. I know I didnt follow your reccomendations lol but the tire shop told me that these were the best for my truck and they fit well. I can't believe how much cooler my tacoma looks even with the stock tires. When these tires wear out I'll probably run some A/T's but for now I'm very happy with the wheels and the look. I'll post some pics when I figure out how to haha

Thanks man, I just got home and it is dark out but I will take some pictures for you tomorrow. The new wheels stick out about 1/2 an inch more than the stock ones but they're still pretty much inside the wheel well.

Hey Blazze, here are the pics you requested, like I said they definitely don't stick out as much as yours but still come out a little bit from the wheel well.

Na I was going to order them but when I went in for a test fit the tire shop unexpectedly had my wheels in stock and I ended up getting them installed right then and there; I showed the guy the Gorillas you were talking about and he gave me something very similar. I took off one of the wheel caps today just to look at the lugs and it doesnt look like the lugs are really catching too much thread, are your lugs the same way?

Mine are catching plenty because they are the extended ones
If I were you I would take a lug nut off and make sure your getting at least 6 full turns

Ok thanks, thats a good idea, I would hope that the place I got them installed at would make sure that they are safe but its good to double check!
