Nice work! I love it when people do something unique and different! Makes their build that much cooler.

I would shape metal. And put a acess door in it. More durable and secure. And heck metal is fun n easy to work with.

Mpg test today. 200+ miles on the highway @ 65-70mph 19mpg on winter blend which is usually worse than summer blend. Another trip tomorrow for comparison data.

Nice! I think I averaged about 18 driving from Kansas City to San Antonio Texas in the summer! If you get even 1mpg better that's awesome!

I have always found I get the best mpg when I had a commute of about 20 miles each way at 40-60 mph. I suppose a continues 70 mph might have even better but conditions that allowed a continues 70 mph I find I and traffic is going 80-85 mph and at that speed my mpg's drop to about an average of 17-17.5 mpg.

I've noticed mpgs suffer cruising over 2k rpms. (75mph+)
Would you be willing to SELL a copy of some blueprints for recreation?

The difficult thing of this design is dealing with the angles and curves. I have cad drawings of what those should be. I hadn't considered selling the drawings. I am putting together a cost to custom build a LB and SB version. I sub out the welding and upolstry to professionals.

I ask because a good buddy of mine is a metal fabrication nut, so it'd be a fun project to make.

I dunno. Stock gears. Ditto what Slashaar said. I was generalizing, but 2k for me is almost exactly 70mph. I've got 265/75/16 tires, so nothing radical there.

Sounds about right for me as well. I’m at 265/70/17 and I’m around 70 @2-2100rpm

Are you making them removable? They don't look welded in.

They are removable. There is a threaded bolt on the underside welded into the inside of the tube. I liked this more than a pin which would allow rattling.

Need a pulley system next for the tent to store in the garage ceiling
