That’s ridiculous. Full torque and up at 1700pm?

Welcome to the world of modern turbos. Ford only beat Toyota there by a little over a decade.

Understood, but in an American context Toyota has essentially taken a 30 year hiatus from turbos.

Imagine driving the manual where you have full HP at 1700 rpm. I want to test drive this...

A turbo adds a lot more pressure to the small 4cyl engine. Wonder how long these engines will last

I think this is also true for the gas version too

They have a history in other marquees of lasting just fine as long as the tune provides sufficient adjustments to align with the structure of the engine.

A turbo doesn't *have* to add a lot of pressure. My '96 300zxt was only about 5lb from the factory. Just enough for that 3.0 to occasionally snuff a small block 'Stang. Closed course naturally.

Lots of old Miatas running around with boost and no issues.

No matter. Gas version will still be a beast with peak power at 1700rpm

Most turbos require high octane so you’d probably have to run 93 in it so there goes your better fuel economy

I don't believe the tundra requires it. Only if towing, IIRC.

6500 lb tow capacity, not hybrid. No change really.

The hybrid can tow 6,000 lbs with a 1,709-lbs payload capacity.

With all that extra under the hood, why ? Ridiculous.

Tundra doesn’t require premium. Ford eco boost doesn’t require premium either.

Current Gen can tow up to 6800lbs. What is the max payload for regular gas model?
