    Research in progress...
I just bought my DC Off-road with 170k miles earlier this year out of state. It was independently inspected then, and when it was delivered I took it to my dealership. I told them to go all out on the inspection and don't hold back. They came back and said nothing to do. I was like come on there's got to be something? Nope. Runs great, no rattles. The overhead compass was out, just fixed that on my own for less than $10 and 30 minutes. Had the tsb for springs done too.

The only problem I'm having is deciding what lift kit to go with

170k was nothing as I had an 89 4Runner with 250k miles before someone rammed me and totaled it. Had it for 12 years and it was about as trouble free as you could get!

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
if you have regular maintainence records then I would go for it, but work them down on the price as much as possible

I bought mine with 156xxx miles on it. Was able to get a warranty through Route 66 that covers nearly anything that can go wrong with it that will last me up to 198000 miles. I knew there would be some minor problems, but that warranty raised my payment by $3 a month. I'm using it today to get the u-joints replaced.

BMW's aren't built like they used to be, My mom has a 2001 740i with around 200k. Thing still runs great, the newer 7 series are terrible.

Bought my 2005 back in February with 160K I've put 12K on it since with no issues. Lik eits been stated though, that is no small amount of miles. Bearings, waterpump, belt, pulleys, plugs, suspension are all suspect. I'm about to replace all my plugs and hopefully suspension, OME all around and a new DAKAR leaf pack, this spring. Ran into some bad gas, caused a slight rumble when initially cranking. That has been the only thing. I would say go for it, but if you keep an eye out you might find a better deal, although that truck looks pretty damn clean.

Do a search on the 4.0 from the earlier part of the 2nd gen's run - can't remember which years were affected most, but sim tugging to consider at least.

Also go with the LB, if you ever plan on carrying any amount of gear. I hesitated on a SB I was thinking about and wound up snagging a LB for less. Never regretted it. If I expect to parallel park I take my Wife's Outback.

There aren't many service records shown so I really don't know how well it was maintained. He would let me get it for $16,100 out the door. He's giving me $5500 on trade for my Civic, but I still owe $6,500 on it & the $16,100 is with the trade difference included & all taxes, docs & registration fees. I'm also looking at 2008 Tacoma Double Cab with 104,000 miles, only downside it has the SHORT BED. BUT they are offering me $7500 for my Civic that I owe $6500 on. They have me out the door for around $19,500-$20,000. Any opinions?

Seems high to me man. I bet you could find a better price if you looked around and/or waited. Have you checked out private sellers, and trying to sell your Civic yourself? Of course the end of the year is coming up, if you can hold off a month you may be able to squeeze a better deal out of some of the dealers. At 20K your only another 6k or so from a 2016 model.

yeah I can only get about $5500 out of my Civic privately. Thats the big plus is they are giving me 7500 for my trade in I owe $6500 on. But i'm worried about the short bed for camping & fitting all my snowboards & gear in, but it's a pretty clean truck. Do you think the 2007 with 175,000 for $14,500 & $16,100 out the door with my trade in difference is a good deal?

I had a '95 1/2 2wd/4cyl/5mt Gen-1. Drove it for the better part of 15 yrs. and 379,000 miles Minus oil changes and gas, but including a new clutch at ~200k I probably spent less than $1k in maint. and minor repairs. Only reason I got rid of it was: needed nicer car for work, wanted a/c and BMW gave me $1,700 on a trade.

No, I don't really. The KBB, which is only a yardstick, places a 2007 DBL Cab 4x4 with 175K between 12.8 and 15.6. You can knock 1-2k off if its a Prerunner.

Now being able to get an additional grand over what you owe on your civic is solid and that alone may make the buy worth it. Honestly, its a matter of preference. Just don't jump the gun or bite onto any of the sales tactics. Those trucks are not priced to move. Think on it, and good luck!

You know....the good thing about higher mileage trucks is that things that are worn out and have to be replaced might as well be upgraded. It's the perfect excuse.

#1. Trailer brake says to me the vehicle was used to tow a heavy enough trailer to require trailer brakes. With that amount of miles, I'd worry how many of them were towing a very heavy trailer.

#2. Do NOT carry negative equity over into your new loan. Fuck that. Don't do it. If they want to sell that truck to you bad enough they will give you what you owe. The other dealership is willing to. DONT DO IT.

#3. With no maintenance records you have no idea what to expect. That truck might have spent the last 5 months in the shop before it got traded in due to it starting to fall apart from neglect.

#4. I bought my truck with 119k and a record of every oil change since it was born. I've got 127k now and it still runs like new. I'd trust it to go anywhere.

@TOYOTA FREAK is that the long bed? Did you buy from a dealer or private seller? Where did you buy it? That's a good looking truck man. Pretty much exactly what i'm looking for

Nice rig Tony, looks like you scored a pretty good deal on that truck. I see you live in Salisbury, I lived there for a bit back in the late 70s after I graduated high school. Nice area
