Here is a Toyo AT3 SL 265/70/r17 on a 17x9 -12 Venomrex wheel. Sorry I don't have a shot face on to show the poke. They poke out just far enough to cover the side of the truck in dirt and rocks. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't pair these two products. I can see a time and place for a 17x9 wheel but there isn't a good reason for it on a 265 width tire. You will probably rub wheel well much more than if you went with a 17x8 -5 wheel (which would also probably be a bit lighter). In my mind, the only advantage a 9 inch wide wheel provides is easier mounting for a wider tire and you can get 285s on a x8 or x8.5 width wheel. So unless you are thinking 'maybe someday I want a 315' consider looking at a narrower wheel.

Also this pic has slightly more sidewall (265/70 shown) than your requested 265/65. Hope it still helps a bit.

@PinStripes posted a great front shot, hopefully some others can jump in with other angles as well to help.

To give you the specs, if you were to put a tape measure on the outside lip of your stock 16" wheel and measure out 1.5", this is where the outside lip of the 9" with -12offset would sit.

the 265/65 size is going to help however its still possible you would need to modify/remove the mudflaps

If you would like to measure out from your stock wheel and confirm if this is about where you would want the new wheel to sit, then that fitment would be the right one. If that is to far out and you would like to let us know where would be ideal for you, we can help match up your ideal stance with the right wheel specs.
