That sounds like a shot load. The mod I've ever had to fill up was 17 gallons and that was with the gas light on.

808matt fuck you for getting me so sidetracked with your sig :)

Wow... it gets me really worried about some of you when I read threads like this!

Do you have an owner's manual (it's in the glove box)?

    It states the tank size.

It would surprise me to hear that there is more than one tank size for all 2005+ Tacomas...

Because, until tonight, they have always been 80 liters or 21.1 gallons!

The 'E light' comes on when the fuel has dropped 17 gallons (4 left in the tank).
The needle is over the E line at ~18.5 gallons down (~2.5 gallons still in the tank).

I hope nobody ever fills up from an 'empty tank', because that means your truck is dead on the road... and you would be lucky to run out at a gas station!

the trd came with a bigger gas tank. its a 18.5 gallon tank. you must have been running on fumes

My old 2004 TRD Off Road listed the fuel capacity at 18.5 gallons. I still have the window sticker.

    completely stock

Dude, must you be so condisending in your posts???
You would get along much further if you leave out comments like "Wow... sometimes I worry about some of you..."

this is also a 1st gen thread so your 21.1 gallons and 17 gallons left when the elight comes on does not apply.

I find this hard to believe. Gas stations are pump audited quite frequently. They also have meters on each pump and at the end of each business day, you're supposed to log each meter reading. These logs are also audited to make sure you arent screwing with the pumps. At least this is how they did it a few years ago when my parents owned a gas station.
