Time has come for me to buy some nice wheels and tires.
My focus is on the 17" black rhino arsenals.
BUT they only come 9.5 inches wide with a -18 offset. My calcs tell me that that's almost 2 inches offset difference than the stock wheels. I would like to run 275/70/R17 on them. I'm on a 2"lift.

Are my hubs going to be screaming? Is it too much poke? Can I even put 275 tire on a 9.5 inch wheel?

    Any insight would be great.

275 would be a little too skinny , especially for a black rhino arsenal wheel which is typically an off-road wheel. I'd recommend upgrading to a 285 or 295 if you can.

You should be okay with 275/70r17s, and I would think your hubs would be fine, I've been running wheel spacers and larger wheels/tires than those for a while with no particular issues. It will be some significant poke, and as others have mentioned you will have a basically flat tire with that wheel/tire combo where you usually want the tire a little wider than the rim

Thank you! I wish that made that wheel less wide with a smaller offset for Tacoma. I may just have to go with the 16" x8" -10mm version. I trying to avoid any trimming and really not looking to have my tires stick 2" past my fenders.

Im looking at a similar setup and in the same predicament... Black Rhino makes a 17 9.5 +12 offset. I am considering going with these wheels and adding a 12mm wheel spacer to get me at offset of zero. Would be putting 265 70R17 on stock height. This logic puts those tires flush I would think. This may be an option for you.

Good tip! I just looked up that wheel. That'll give me some more flexibility!

Tons of flexibility! Likely the route I’m taking as well.

Good point man. Looks like the black rhino wheels are 15lbs more per wheel than stock alloy. Im running falken tires now on stock and curious how the extra weight will affect with the same tire. I could see an extra 15# having an effect.

    Good advise!
The combo I'm looking at isn't horribly heavy. Wheels are 35lbs and tires 50lbs. Which puts me at 85 lbs total. Stock I'm at 25 for wheels and 39 for wheels.

I ran 17 X 9.5 +6 armory wheels with 33 X 10.5 Wrangler MT/R's for a short time and the tires sat approx .5" further out than factory. With a 1.5" front leveling block there was zero rubbing. The weight was a killer. Even living in flat central Indiana my truck would struggle going up any hill on the interstate. Eventually change my setup to the 16 X 8's with wrangler duratracs. Truck performs much better with the lighter wheels and an Orange Virus tune upgrade.

    I just did a 2" front and icon leaf pack to the rear, 275 70 17 on fuel rebel 6 , 17x 9 with -12
Did a minor mod to the front of wheel well , removed mud flaps and front air dam . no rubbing at all .
If you are in Arizona call Eric at State 48 or Ben at Toy Pros, they are amazing to work with.
