I just got a 2012 TRD Sport with the upgrade package. I'm not that thrilled with the look of 18" chrome wheels. I saw a set on ebay for $220 each, what do you all think is fair. Anybody interested?

Here's the pic. I'm really sorry about the quality, but the subterranean garage at work + iphone = grainy. If it makes a difference I was planning on throwing the stock tires in as well and I'm on the front range in Colorado. I want to swap to matte black 17" so theses won't do me much good. The truck only has 650 miles as of my commute in this morning. I'm also considering just powder coating these but I've heard that the temps can damage the wheel. Any thoughts?

Take the chrome plastic covers off and paint the alloy behind them black

Well chrome wheels are a little hard to sell these days. Personally I'd just powder coat them. Literally THOUSANDS of people have powder coated their wheels with no problems.

The local shop here is offering to do it for $85/wheel with a 4 day turn around, but my truck would be up on blocks for that time and I'd have to rent a car or hitch hike to get to work. Also, I wanted to go with a set of Duratracs for winter driving and the difference between tires for 17 vs 18" wheels plus the fact that the wheels I want are just $170 means that I'm not really spending any more. Also, I've heard that you have to replace stock wheels when you lift so their days are numbered anyway. Does this all seem like decent logic or am I talking myself into it?

You can run a lift & bigger tires with those wheels regardless of your suspension setup, but to an extent.

Whoever you are getting you're information from needs to get out of the automotive business. Both of these statements are INCORRECT and couldn't be further from the truth.

Not a fan of the chrome finish either. Personally, I would try to sell 'em. If they don't sell for a reasonable price , then I would choose to powder coat them.

Should've been more clear. Some of the front end kits I'm looking at have a maximum wheel backspacing of 4.5" these wheels have 5". So that was my consideration. Anyway, someone offered me $750 on craigslist so imagonna take it.

    Sold

Craigslist guy actually paid $900 for the wheels with the stock tires. I was going to stick with an 18" rim size to save cash by reusing the rubber but honestly the stock BFGs look like they belong on a mini van, and the 18" made for a much harsher ride than my old Tacoma.
