Hello, I’m new to the forum and the Tacoma world. I just purchased an 18 Tacoma trd sport with 14k miles. So far I love the truck. My only 2 concerns are the muffler has a buzzy sound when accelerating pretty hard. Is this normal? Also a scratchy noise in the dash near the passenger speaker. Any response is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I could describe my 18 Limited exhaust note as buzzy. As for the scratchy noise near the passenger speaker there is a common quirk where the A pillar plastic rubs a little against the dash. Mine does it when cold and goes away once warmed up.

My a pillar trim and speaker cover rubbed together until I pressed the a pillar trim in at the base. It hasn't made a sound since.

The exhaust, depending on mileage and/or location, if you don’t feel it is normal, maybe it is rusting and leaking or maybe it is aftermarket installed by the precious owner. My 2017 is not noisy but I can hear it with the windows down.

Thanks for your replies. That does remind me, the exhaust has a Gibson rectangle tailpipe installed on it. Maybe that is affecting the sound.
