You're gonna need a lift for those 285's if you want to be able to turn the wheel...

    wat?
no lift the biggest 17 w/o issue is a 265/70/17...well...on stock wheels at least. if u get an aftermarket wheel w/ a 4.5" backspace or so, u may be able to do a 275, but definately not a 285

as for rim size, its all personal preference....most tend to go smaller rim and more rubber for offroading. get what u want as long as it'll work
