$19,000 For Flood Totalled 06 PreRunner!

My neighbor's Tacoma is almost an identicle twin of mine. 2006 PreRunner, completely blacked, 3" lift, etc...

His got flooded in the storms in Aug. I was hounding him to take the settlement, with buy back option and id pay the difference.

Im thinking, great get a twin Tacoma to play with for few thousand bux! Woohoo!

He drove up yesterday in a new jeep and said sorry bro, had to take the offer! They gave him $19,000 for his truck as-is, meaning, he leave the lift, the stereo (not too high end, worth about $1,000), tires and wheels (again nothing too special since many years old and half worn)

Looks like our Tacomas are worth more than we thought lol!

my '11 was totaled back in june, I paid ~$26K for it...they gave me a $25K check for a 6yo truck. can't complain. wish the new ones weren't so pricey, I'd have bought another (didn't want car payment again lol).

 

when you tell people what you get for used tacomas they think you are bs I traded in my 6 year old sport dcsb and got 18500 from the dealer it had 90000 miles on it, they cleaned it up and sold it for 22500 .......I only paid 28000 for it new.

 

How much did they mark up the Jeep?

$19k for a 2 wheel drive truck?

Let us know what they put the thing on the lot for. My guess is it goes straight to auction.

 

A few years back I got 15K for a totaled ten year old 04 Highlander.
