I have a 19 Taco sr5 v6 19k, just recently I thought I’ve noticed the speedometer jump back and forth a few mph. At first I thought it was just my eyes, but never experienced it on our other Toyota’s or VW. Anyone else ever seen the speedo jump or spasm out a little bit? I would take it to the dealer but this just seems like such a strange issue they would think I’m crazy and say ‘Could not replicate’.

    Thanks

This was a known problem early on (16 and 17). Mine did it when I first got it (randomly) but it eventually stopped doing it. The process for getting it fixed through the dealer was a PITA, because they need to order a new gauge cluster and have it set to the mileage of your vehicle. So from when they order it to when they receive it, your truck can't be driven... at least that's the way I understood the process. It's weird that the mileage isn't stored in the ECU...

Edit: Search "Speedometer Bounce" in the 3rd gen section. You'll find some threads with links to more threads.
