Colt Defender and my Kimber Raptor II (I removed the wood grips). Wood grips are so nice, I want to keep on there, but for long shooting they just don't feel good.

I really like my Ruger SR1911. It does exactly what I bought it for.

Made a pair of wooden grips for carry purposes. The factory checkering felt great for shooting, but kinda got uncomfortable while carrying.

The set on the left was from the previous owner of my PT1911; all I did was just refinish them. The set on the right I made from scratch as a challenge project.

image.jpg Added some extreme 10-8 style thumb scoop to my grips. Took 15 minutes and a dremel.

I've been waiting since last October to buy it. It's not my first choice but the truth is I'm just not going to be able to afford any of the high end guns I want. My last SA 1911 was absolutely amazing though so I know I'll be more than happy with it.

Last week I attended the grand opening of Kahr Arms new manufacturing facility here in PA. I was also through on a our with the owner, Justin Moon, a few weeks before. They are combining their manufacturing facilities for Kahr, Auto Ordnance/Thompson and Desert Eagle into this new facility and closing their plants in Connecticut and New York over the next year or so. All production and assembly will ultimately be done here in PA.

Does anyone have experience with Williams Fire sights (or whatever they're called)? My PT1911 needs to have its sights replaced, so I just need a budget friendly set. And since Taurus decided to make their dovetail slightly different from the standard 1911 cut, my options are somewhat limited.

My Dad's Remington Rand 1911 (which is in my safe now). It has been well used and the barrel is significantly worn. Not the most accurate but sure is fun and an attention getter. Went to a muti day hand gun class, brought this just for the fun of it and everyone wanted to shoot it!
