    Also glad to hear all the good words about the Ruger SR1911. I bought one, but it wouldn't load and had to go back. Can't wait to get it back and go shooting!

    Nothing wrong with the S&W 1911's I have shot a few and they seem tight and good shooters....

    Yeah, I did the same with the trigger sent it off to a local gunsmith here in Va @ Sams custom gunworks top notch work that rivals Ed brown/Wilson combat/Nighthawk.....

    Not looking right now (Well, not seriously looking, I always am looking at guns) but budget will likely be $650-700, local place has the S&W's for $650

    You are in the ballpark look at a Springfeild MC operator you can find the used and in good shape for $800 keep an eye on gunbroker....
