Those may be things he plans on upgrading himself, though.

I like the "Browning cut" on the slide.

That's a ball cut not a browning cut.

The sights, ball cut and French line all require machining. But he could do a trigger job and safety.

This is not my work just did a interwebs grab.

This is a highpower cut, browining cut or carry cut. All the same thing.

Since when do 1911 sights need machining to swap?

I changed the ones on my Ruger without any machining; they pressed right in.

There are 60 and 65 degree dove tails. Bomar and LPA sights. Slotted sights like the ones on a mil spec. If you want good sights these slotted sights aren't going to happen.

I see. So if he wanted to upgrade sights to a Novak-style then they'd need machining. That makes more sense.

I don't have enough hours in the day to start ceracoat also. There are so many shops someone can take it too. I'm currently backed up several months with work and I have a wait list.

Right. I did a lot of the mods to my 1911 myself but I sent the slide out for machining. Had it cut for Novaks and had the port lowered/flared.

Nothing to exciting today. Did a couple trigger jobs. First one using C&S parts the second using OEM parts. So used the mil to set up the OEM hammer hooks properly than did the job. Once that was done fit a new ambi safety. The ambi safety overhung the frame so I blended it to match the frame lines then re beveled it. I did not fit this beaver tail it's a factory Kimber fit.

AMT Hardballer came in wanting a beaver tail, trigger job and refinish.

Refinished and did the satin finish on the sides of the slide by hand.

    The Phantom used those!
Such a horrible movie as an adult, but I loved it as a kid.

Yeah, made famous by the Ahnold.
Remembered by me from the Phantom, though. That movie was the first time I saw somebody carry akimbo, I think. With a pair of badass guns, lol.
