It's the commander length, 4.25, and thanks! Anything vz puts out is fantastic! Though some get a tad scratchy when concealed..

Those are the grips I want! Google isn’t helping me out, though. Link?

It was on Pinterest I think it originally came from TTAG (The Truth About Guns) maybe they would know where to obtain said grips?

They're actually local to Austin/San Antonio. I use to work with Nick Leghorn at my current employer.

The bobtail was done after purchase. It's amazing what that little bit of material removal does for comfort!

I really like my Dan Wesson bobtail as well. Added the CZ slim grips.

Hey folks, I’m looking to get a 1911. I’d like a desert tan 1911 and am looking at the Sig Scorpion and Kimber Desert Warrior. Any opinions as to which would be the better gun or are they a wash? Does anyone else make a desert tan that I should consider? Thanks.

That’s what I generally do but sometimes the gun that feels the best is one that could also have a lot of issues you don’t know about. :). I own a shameful amount of hunting rifles but only a couple of handguns. Of course I also have to convince my wife I need a long gun every now and then too but she has shot that “need” down for the foreseeable future. :)

Either of those manufacturers should be problem free.
