    What do people think of the rock island 1911s? I’ve always wanted a 1911 but cannot justify or afford a $2k gun. And the ria seems like a decent compromise that I could upgrade over time.

    I will have to look into the springfields more I don’t think my local shop carries them and mass is hard to keep up with what handguns tou can get

    A. Upgrade to a better pistol?
    B. Upgrade the RIA

    if you answer is B, RIA is not a good platform to upgrade.


    I have a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec that is great, used only 600.....

    Or the price of a few boxes if ammo you can get into a much better gun, and it's a worthwhile investment. You can buy a reliable and accurate 1911 for much less than $2k, and not a lot more than a RIA
