Dropping an LS would make me feel like I’m modernizing the car, and I want it to look and feel like a classic. Which includes an old school (but new) Mopar engine.

Totally understand. Im building a drag car, so I chose an iron block 5.3L LS out of a Silverado. Forging the internals and stroking it to a 363 then throwing a couple of turbochargers on it.

this guy has been working on Mopars since the 80's.
if it can be done with one of these cars he has done it, I believe he has done the manual swap in close to 100 cars and that is while he was still in high school.
he is super nice and probably the most knowledgeable guy on these cars that I have ever met..

reach out to him he is always willing to help.

I don't have any of the skills, space or tools to do this but I am enjoying this thread. I loved mid-sixties Dodges and Plymouths. Keep posting, it is very interesting how you are going about this, research, weighing options.
    Good luck.

This is actually my first time doing ANY of this. I have lots of experience with engine and drivetrain stuff. But body work I’ve never touched in my life. Gotta start somewhere tho lol

Well, you look like you are carefully thinking and re-thinking every step. It's going to be fun to watch.

It won't be cheap or easy *to find parts to go stick but for as desireable a car as a Barracuda it would pay in the long run.
