I just bought a fj40 that's missing motor for 5500, and just found out it has a salvaged title. Should I go take it back or keep it and sell it

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
If you plan on using it as a dedicated Wheeler, salvaged title shouldn't matter.

If you plan on restoring it completely and keeping it pristine in order to re-sell at some point, then I would be concerned about the title.

    Either way, it's a sweet li'l 40!!! I love those rigs :)

What are your plans with it? If it would be strictly a toy, who cares the title is salvaged. If the frame is straight and nothing looks unsafe, I'd say keep it and have fun building.

Was this craigslist? That is really shady that the salvaged title wasn't disclosed to you prior to purchase. I would return it unless you are 100% in love with it.
I had a '67 FJ40 and what fun those things are.
It seems for that price, you can get much better than a salvaged title rig with no engine.
